2989943462-2 Apply for this job now Job Description A. O. Smith seeks an Accountant to support our manufacturing operations in Milwaukee. This role prepares and analyzes financial statements, manages the general ledger, and supports standard cost and inventory accounting. You will partner with plant and corporate teams on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The position offers the opportunity to influence process improvements, support audits, and contribute to data-driven decisions in a performance-driven, safety-focused, and innovation-oriented manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for manufacturing operations Maintain general ledger, perform journal entries, and reconcile key balance sheet accounts Support standard cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis for production sites Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for plant and corporate functions Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to provide financial insights on cost savings and process improvements Support internal and external audits with schedules, documentation, and variance explanations Develop and refine financial reports, KPIs, and dashboards to support data-driven decisions Assist with capital expenditure tracking, project ROI analysis, and fixed asset accounting Identify and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and control in accounting workflows Required Skills Financial reporting General ledger accounting GAAP knowledge Cost accounting Inventory accounting Budgeting and forecasting Variance analysis Excel and financial modeling ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) Internal controls and audit support
