Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance with accounting standards, and ensuring the integrity of our financial data. Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry and transaction recording using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems. Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining vendor and customer records. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing reports, performing account analysis, and verifying ledger accuracy. Conduct internal audits related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation. Utilize financial software like Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft for payroll processing, time tracking, and HR-related data management. Perform detailed Excel data analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting purposes. Handle confidential information with integrity while ensuring data security across all financial systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting workflows and implement new systems or updates as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus but not required. Profeciant in Excel Proven experience in accounting roles with strong knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting principles. Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or UltiPro is highly desirable. Strong technical accounting skills including journal entries, account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and general ledger management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures. Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills combined with customer service orientation to support internal teams effectively.
