• Position Summary
• The Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating all phases of the construction job costing process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects.

This position also assures vendor compliance in order to manage project risk. This role is assigned to a large construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

• Position Details
• + Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.

+ Performs financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget. + Processes project accounts payable and subcontracts payable. + Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s. Produces and analyzes job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports. + Assists in preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs. + Identifies and resolves basic and more complex project related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.

• Qualifications
• + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred + 3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred + Strong accounting knowledge + Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Strong customer service skills + Strong analytical skills + Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task + Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure + Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion + Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
