An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
Senior Accountant J&S Rodriguez Corp is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in managing the company's financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting operations across multiple family-owned entities, including a real estate company, plumbing, HVAC, electrical services, and new residential construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements Oversee and support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions Maintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledger for all companies Analyze financial data and provide insights to ownership and management Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across entities Coordinate and support audits and compliance requirements Ensure proper financial tracking for real estate holdings and construction projects Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience (senior-level preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP principles Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple entities and priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in construction, real estate, plumbing, HVAC, or service-based industries CPA or CPA-track is a plus
