Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist Our client is a growing, publicly traded insurance distribution company with an expanding portfolio of insurance platforms. As the organization continues to grow through strategic acquisitions, they are seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist to play a key role in integrating and supporting one of their recently acquired businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to become the accounting lead for a business unit, overseeing critical insurance accounting functions while helping guide a seamless transition into the larger organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong insurance accounting expertise, a hands-on approach, and the ability to build relationships, improve processes, and make an immediate impact.

To succeed as the Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist, you should have: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close Insurance industry accounting experience strongly preferred, particularly with an agency, MGA, wholesale broker, or insurance carrier Experience with premium accounting, carrier settlements, commissions, premium trust accounting, and premium tax reporting preferred Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis Experience with accounting/ERP systems; familiarity with AMS360 or a similar agency management system preferred Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage high volumes, shifting priorities, deadlines, and confidential information Your responsibilities as the Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist will include:
Banking:
post checks, schedule ACHs and reconcile bank statements
Commissions:
run statements, process payments via check and ACH, and remit commission statements to stakeholders
Invoicing:
invoice premiums, policy and broker fees, balance reports, allocate funds already received, and run daily processes
Taxes:
file and pay premium taxes
Carrier Settlements:
Pay premiums to insurance companies
Receivables:
Follow up on monies owed to
TWFG/APIA
