Reports To:
Site Construction Manager Position Summary Seeking an experienced Field Accountant to support financial and administrative operations for an active facility construction project. This role works on-site to ensure accurate cost tracking, invoice processing, timekeeping compliance, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction or industrial project accounting and is comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment. Key Responsibilities Process and code field invoices, subcontractor billings, and purchase orders in accordance with project cost codes Track daily/weekly labor hours, per diem, and equipment usage for field personnel and subcontractors Reconcile field expenditures against project budgets and flag variances to Project Controls Support weekly and monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and job cost accruals Maintain accurate records for change orders, T&M tickets, and field purchase requisitions Coordinate with corporate accounting/AP teams to ensure timely payment processing Assist with certified payroll reporting and compliance documentation as required Support internal and client audits by maintaining organized financial documentation Liaise with site superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors on cost-related questions Ensure compliance with client and company financial policies, procedures, and controls Qualifications 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, pipeline, or industrial/EPC project environments Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proficiency in Excel; experience with job cost/ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint, JD Edwards, SAP, or similar) preferred Familiarity with union/certified payroll requirements a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cost codes/work orders simultaneously Comfortable working on an active construction/facility site Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field and corporate teams Working Conditions On-site presence required at the project facility May require occasional travel between site office and job locations Standard construction site PPE and safety compliance required
