Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Utah. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized and accurate, and who can manage complex financial activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a smooth month-end close process. The right candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely completion of all required accounting tasks.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate recording, analysis, and follow-up on financial transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
  • Review and reconcile bank activity, ensuring cash records align with internal financial data and external statements.
  • Analyze accounting issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support accounting processes that may involve system-related updates or changes while helping preserve data consistency and reporting reliability.
