This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with payroll, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's accounting information. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Upper Management, Human Resources, and other departments to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and complete account reconciliations as part of the monthly and annual close process. Perform monthly bank account reconciliations and maintain daily cash and banking reports. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal financial reporting. Review accounting records and transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies, inaccuracies, and account imbalances. Prepare reports summarizing company financial activity, including income, expenses, and other key financial information. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of supporting financial documentation. Monitor cash activity and assist with cash management and banking functions. Process commission-related accounting entries and coordinate ACH bonus payments. Maintain fixed asset records and calculate and record depreciation. Assist with sales tax reporting and maintain applicable sales tax records and documentation. Prepare financial and regulatory reports as required. Prepare annual 1099s and coordinate required IRS filings. Process backup withholding payments and assist with Form 945 filing requirements. Support Canadian accounting including preparation and filing of T4s with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Assist with accounting functions related to inventory and sales entries. Support accounts payable, cost accounting, and other general accounting activities as needed. Assist with external audits and provide requested financial documentation and supporting schedules. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, accuracy, and efficiency. Perform additional accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant accounting experience may be considered. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Experience preparing or assisting with financial statements and management reporting. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, fixed assets, and tax-related reporting is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with accounting or ERP systems required; experience with Acumatica is a plus. Experience supporting Canadian accounting or payroll functions is a plus.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
