The Financial Control team is responsible for all accounting and tax activities of several North American business entities within multiple industries including ocean carrier agency, trucking, intermodal/rail, and real estate. We maintain and develop accounting principles, practices, and procedures in alignment with headquarters to ensure accurate and timely financial statements to external stakeholders and internal reporting to corporate management, as well as to stay in compliance with regulations. Main responsibilities include general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget and forecast development.

Accountant Job Duties:
Prepare journal entries, including month-end close and cash management for North American Group companies. Prepare consolidated financials for multiple entities in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting packages to Headquarters. Perform account analysis and prepare account reconciliations. Maintain general ledger accounts and company records. Prepare and support tax-related filings, provisions, and projects. Prepare audit workpapers, internal financial package, and financial statements. Support internal and external audit requests and participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives. Provide accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and optimize profitability. Minimum Qualifications for
Accountant Position:
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting Active CPA license required Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems Knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit support processes Experience with tax compliance, tax provision, and multistate tax filings Knowledge of the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Self-motivated with the ability to learn independently and adapt to changing business needs Strong time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to identify and implement process enhancements All employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
