$75,000+ DOE + Excellent Benefits Our client, a respected nonprofit foundation, is seeking a Nonprofit Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a mission-driven organization while gaining broad exposure to nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, grants, financial reporting, budgeting, contracts, and audit support. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will help maintain accurate financial records, support monthly close, ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and contribute to the financial operations of multiple nonprofit entities. Responsibilities Perform day-to-day accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, cash receipts, journal entries and reconciliations. Assist with monthly and year-end close activities. Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. Prepare audit schedules and assist with IRS Form 990 preparation. Maintain fund and grant accounting records. Allocate shared expenses between nonprofit entities. Manage contract setup, billing schedules, renewals and revenue recognition. Strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls and financial processes. Partner with the CFO and outsourced accounting resources to ensure accurate financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 3-5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience. Experience working with 501(c)(3) organizations required. Strong knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, fund accounting, ASC 958 and nonprofit revenue recognition. Experience supporting annual audits and Form 990 preparation. Sage Intacct and Bill.com experience strongly preferred. Experience with contract administration and grant accounting preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
