Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Key contributor to the monthly general ledger close and reporting process towards an initial 5-day close (goal is 4 days) Responsible for P&L and Balance Sheet accounting across multiple functional areas - including accruals and prepaids, fixed assets, leases, payroll, intercompany, cash and bank reconciliations, and AP/AR subledger activity - to include journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, and schedules Research and investigate financial variances for monthly fluctuation analysis (P&L and Balance Sheet); resolve in an expeditious manner Own end-to-end close activities across more than one discipline concurrently, shifting priorities between areas. Partner with AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury, FP&A, and site/business-unit finance leads to resolve issues at the source rather than at the ledger Support alignment with Shared Service Accounting policies and best practices Prepare business process documentation for core activities Support onboarding of newly acquired entities into the shared services model, including chart of accounts mapping, opening balance validation, and transition of close activities across multiple entities and ledgersBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on ownership of at least two distinct accounting disciplines (e.g., general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, intercompany, AP/AR) Experience closing the books for multiple entities, sites, or business unitsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with a major ERP (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and related close/reconciliation tools, including work through an ERP implementation or system consolidation Prior experience in a shared services, multi-entity, or corporate accounting center of excellence Experience in the application of accrual accounting for hard month-end close cut-off Candidate should be comfortable dealing with complex accounting matters and competency applying US GAAP Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, xlookup, vlookup, pivot tables, etc) The Salary Range- The salary range for this position is $XX,XXX-$YY,YYY annually.
