Purpose and Scope of Job:
Primarily responsible for performing accounting functions necessary for the day-to-day operations to include Capital assets, sales tax compliance, accruals, journal entries, month end tasks, manage large vendor accounts, and account reconciliations. Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned): Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports. Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, reconciliation, and assist with the semi-annual FA audits. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash balances and identify discrepancies. Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations, which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, monthly accruals, recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, in accordance with GAAP. Participate in the month end, quarter, and year end closing process Prepare and analyze the monthly departmental budget to actual for variances. Managing the company's fleet vehicles and lease related accounting procedure Managed several large vendor accounts. Compile and prepare the sales tax data for monthly compliance. Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits. Completing the US Census in a timely manner Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience Two (2) years accounting experience in medium to large corporation. Working knowledge of GAAP. Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
