Job Description:
Project Accountant / Senior Project Accountant Manassas, VA (Onsite 4 - 5 days per week) Our client, a rapidly growing project-based services organization with operations across multiple states, is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial performance of a high-volume regional business unit. This position offers the opportunity to partner directly with operations leadership, analyze project profitability, support forecasting efforts, and play a key role in the financial success of complex projects. Responsibilities Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability Maintain and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting Assist with monthly forecasting and budgeting activities Review project financial performance and identify cost overruns, risks, and opportunities Support revenue recognition and project cost tracking Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure project data is accurate and complete Assist with accounts payable processing and project cost reconciliation Prepare financial reporting and performance analysis for management Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred 3+ years of experience in project accounting, cost accounting, construction accounting, financial analysis, or related disciplines Experience supporting project-based, contract-based, or operational environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Advanced Excel skills Ability to work independently and partner effectively with operations personnel Experience with ERP systems and project management software preferred Why This Opportunity? Compensation:
