Job Description
Role Summary Comprehensive Sleep Care Center is seeking a hands-on accounting leader to help strengthen the finance foundation of a growing multi-location healthcare platform. This role will support core accounting operations, including AP oversight, payroll/HRIS coordination, month-end close, reconciliations, cash flow visibility, GAAP-based reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced, multi-location healthcare, physician practice, MSO, or founder-led growth environment and is comfortable both managing day-to-day accounting and building scalable processes. In the near term, this role will focus on stabilizing close cadence, improving AP and payroll controls, strengthening reconciliations, and creating more consistent location-level financial reporting to support leadership visibility and decision-making. This is a hands-on role best suited for someone who can operate in a growing, founder-led environment where processes are still being built and improved. The right person will bring practical structure, follow-through, and financial discipline while working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Monthly Close
- Manage the monthly close process across the organization, ensuring financial results are completed timely, accurately, and consistently.
- Own or oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and balance sheet review.
- Help establish and maintain a structured close calendar with clear deadlines, ownership, supporting schedules, and review procedures.
- Improve the quality, consistency, and completeness of accounting records across locations, departments, and business lines.
- Identify accounting gaps, process issues, reconciliation needs, or reporting inconsistencies and implement practical solutions.
- Support finance leadership in creating a more disciplined month-end reporting and leadership review cadence. GAAP-Based & Multi-Location Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements using GAAP-based reporting principles.
- Support multi-location financial reporting, including location-level, department-level, and business-line reporting where applicable.
- Ensure consistent accounting treatment for revenue, expenses, payroll, vendor expenses, shared costs, and allocations.
- Maintain reporting discipline across the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Help improve financial statement accuracy, comparability, and usefulness for leadership decision-making.
- Support ownership, lender, and leadership reporting needs as the company continues to build more consistent financial reporting practices.
- Work across multiple systems, data sources, and manual processes while helping improve reporting consistency and financial visibility. Accounts Payable Oversight & Spend Controls
- Oversee the accounts payable process, including invoice capture, coding, approvals, vendor management, and payment readiness.
- Strengthen AP controls around approvals, duplicate payment prevention, vendor setup, payment methods, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure major purchases are reviewed with appropriate support, including purchase approval, invoice review, receiving confirmation, packing slips, vendor statements, or other available documentation.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, DME, office/admin, purchasing, and finance teams to improve AP accountability and spend visibility.
- Review AP aging, vendor statements, and open invoice status to support cash planning and month-end close.
- Help establish recurring AP reporting, vendor reconciliation processes, and approval discipline.
- Ensure AP processes are scalable, documented, and aligned with broader financial reporting needs. Payroll, HRIS & Labor Reporting Oversight
- Oversee payroll and HRIS-related finance processes to ensure payroll data is accurate, timely, and appropriately reflected in the financial statements.
- Coordinate with HR/payroll resources to ensure payroll entries, benefits, deductions, PTO, bonuses, commissions, and related liabilities are properly recorded.
- Review payroll reporting for completeness, accuracy, and consistency across departments, locations, and business lines.
- Ensure payroll-related reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules are completed as part of the month-end close process.
- Support labor cost visibility, headcount reporting, and compensation-related reporting as the finance function matures.
- Partner with HR and operations to improve visibility into staffing costs, payroll trends, and labor-related financial drivers. Cash Flow Forecasting & Treasury Support
- Support finance leadership in developing and maintaining short-term and forward-looking cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor cash needs related to payroll, vendor payments, debt obligations, capital expenditures, taxes, and other operating requirements.
- Help improve visibility into working capital trends, AP timing, AR collections, and cash requirements.
- Support treasury processes, including bank activity review, cash reporting, and payment control procedures.
- Identify potential cash risks, timing issues, or liquidity needs and escalate appropriately. Internal Controls, Process Improvement & Team Accountability
- Strengthen accounting policies, SOPs, approval workflows, reconciliations, and documentation standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reduce manual work, and improve accuracy.
- Manage and support finance operations resources responsible for AP, payroll/HRIS, and related accounting workflows.
- Establish clear deadlines, ownership, review processes, and recurring reporting expectations.
- Build scalable accounting processes that can support a growing multi-location platform.
- Partner with leadership and finance advisors to bring more structure, discipline, and accountability to the finance function. Success in This Role Will Include
- A consistent monthly close calendar with clear ownership, deadlines, and supporting schedules.

- Improved AP controls and reduced duplicate, unsupported, or poorly documented payments.
- Payroll and labor costs accurately reflected in financial reporting.

- More reliable multi-location, department-level, and business-line reporting.
- Clearer accounting workflows, documentation, and accountability across the finance function.
- Better financial visibility for leadership decision-making as the organization continues to grow. Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, senior accounting, or finance operations experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and month-end close processes.
- Experience managing AP, payroll accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, financial statements, and internal reporting.
- Experience working in a multi-location, healthcare, physician practice, MSO, or fast-growth business environment preferred.
- Ability to operate hands-on while also improving processes, controls, and team accountability.
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to work across multiple systems, data sources, and manual processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, HR, vendors, and leadership. Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required depending on experience.
- Experience in founder-led or high-growth healthcare organizations.
- Experience with multi-location reporting, departmental P&Ls, shared cost allocations, and recurring financial reporting.
- Experience with payroll/HRIS systems, AP automation tools, accounting systems, and reporting tools.
