Job Summary and Responsibilities Acentra Health is looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for payroll accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting within a 3,000-employee government contracting environment consisting of salaried and hourly employees. This role ensures payroll data from UKG is accurately recorded in Deltek Costpoint and properly reflected in the general ledger. The position supports payroll and timekeeping processes designed to meet government contracting compliance standards, including CMS audit expectations and Service Contract Act (SCA) requirements. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, supporting labor charging integrity, and ensuring payroll costs are allocable, allowable, and properly recorded.
Responsibilities:
Prepare payroll-related journal entries in Costpoint, including direct labor, indirect labor, employer taxes, and SCA fringe and health and welfare obligations Reconcile payroll clearing accounts, accrued wages, PTO accruals, SCA fringe liabilities, and payroll tax accounts Tie UKG payroll outputs to Costpoint labor distribution reports to ensure completeness and accuracy Review labor allocations across projects and contracts to ensure proper charging Support SCA compliance by reconciling wage determinations and fringe accruals Maintain monthly audit-ready reconciliation documentation and supporting schedules Investigate payroll or labor variances, determine root cause, and document resolution Assist with incurred cost submissions and supporting schedules, as applicable Partner with Payroll, HR, and General Ledger teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll data flow Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules. The list of responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other education- and experience-related duties that management may deem necessary from time to time. Qualifications Required Qualifications 4+ years of payroll accounting experience, preferably in a government contracting environment Strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint general ledger and labor modules Working knowledge of UKG payroll reporting and payroll data structures Experience reconciling payroll for large employee populations, preferably 2,000+ employees Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting government audits or compliance reviews Familiarity with FAR cost principles and allocability standards Experience supporting incurred cost submissions Why us? Compensation The pay for this position is listed below. "Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicant's position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level." Pay Range USD $77,280.00 - USD $96,600.00 /Yr.
