full-time My client has an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a role as a Senior Accountant in their Reston, VA office. They are a for-profit organization and the ideal person selected for the Senior Accountant position would have a mix of public accounting and industry experience. This person will be responsible for assisting with the accounting operations for the company and will report to the Controller. The duties will consist of supporting the month-end close process, posting various journal entries; including intercompany activity, reconciling various accounts, producing financial reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting and ensuring the company remains in compliance with US GAAP. This organization offers excellent benefits; including medical, in addition to great work life balance. Daily responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include: Assist with month-end close process. Prepare various budgets and schedules. Assist with property tax and other filings. Reconcile general ledger accounts. Maintain internal control SOX compliance. Support DCAA audit requests. The ideal Senior Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 2-3+ years of public accounting or relevant experience. Experience with MRI or Yardi, preferred. CPA, preferred. Communicate effectively to leadership.
