Job Description

Senior Plant Cost Accountant The Senior Plant Cost Accountant will play a key role in supporting Operations, providing both operational and financial insights in line with company policies. Responsibilities include conducting monthly closings, analyzing variances, assisting with annual planning, and conducting ad hoc analyses. This position will serve as a trusted business partner to plant leadership and all functional areas within the facility. It is a highly visible and critical role within both the plant and the broader company.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Plant Leadership as a trusted business partner. Provide data-driven insights to support performance and objectives. Monitor and report actual performance against plans, forecasts, and standards. Analyze spending trends and headcount, and drive corrective actions. Prepare monthly closing entries and financial statements. Support annual planning and interim projections. Maintain accurate standard cost records. Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial analysis. Make expense vs. capital decisions in accordance with GAAP. Participate in and provide financial guidance on Plant Cost Savings initiatives. Ensure compliance with audit procedures and internal controls. Maintain proper inventory valuation and reserves in line with GAAP. Represent the Finance Team in plant meetings.
Requirements:
5-8 years of experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field. Proficiency in standard cost valuation. Experience with cost accounting in ERP systems. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
