Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Wirtz, Virginia. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced accounting environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and record journal entries with appropriate support while maintaining accuracy across the general ledger.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
  • Perform bank account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items to keep cash records current and accurate.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial records by reviewing transactions, identifying variances, and correcting posting issues as needed.
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations through detailed analysis and documentation of account activity.
  • Use QuickBooks and related accounting tools to manage entries, reconciliations, and financial information efficiently.
