Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support financial operations and provide dependable accounting leadership in Barre, Vermont. This role works closely with the CFO to maintain accurate records, strengthen reporting processes, and help ensure timely completion of core accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the CFO on day-to-day accounting functions and contribute to accurate, timely financial management.
  • Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the integrity of general ledger activity.
  • Complete bank and account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Apply and post cash receipts accurately to ensure current and reliable financial records.
  • Guide accounts payable operations by reviewing workflow, supporting issue resolution, and helping maintain processing accuracy.
  • Produce recurring financial statements and related reports for leadership review and decision-making.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including balance sheet review and supporting documentation.
  • Support payroll-related accounting tasks and help ensure proper recording of compensation expenses.
