Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to join our team in Eastsound, Washington. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth within a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a passion for numbers, and the ability to work with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Record, analyze, and report financial transactions using dual-entry accounting software, such as Abila MIP Fund Accounting.
  • Verify the accuracy of figures, postings, and financial reports, addressing and correcting discrepancies as necessary.
  • Input donor and service data into customer relationship management systems like Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, including cash receipts and journal entries across multiple funds.
  • Support cash management activities to ensure financial stability and compliance.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Participate in annual audit preparations by maintaining organized and accurate documentation.
  • Create and maintain electronic backups in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Safeguard sensitive information by adhering to privacy and security protocols.
  • Contribute to the generation of financial reports and data analysis as required.
