Required 100% ONSITE Position Overview We have an immediate need for a Temporary General Accountant to provide leave coverage within an ITD Accounting team. This is an approximately six-month assignment, fully onsite in Renton, WA , currently planned from mid-September through mid-March. The General Accountant will support month-end and quarter-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, and other general accounting activities . The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who can work independently, quickly learn established processes, research issues, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities with limited supervision. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and quarterly close activities. Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and investigate variances. Support month-end and quarter-end close processes and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Process and reconcile intercompany transactions . Analyze financial results and prepare variance analysis for management. Work directly with department managers to review forecast-to-actual results, explain variances, and gather forecast assumptions. Assist with budgeting and forecasting for assigned departments. Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports using Microsoft Excel and
SAP S/4HANA
. Maintain and utilize existing Excel and Power Query reporting tools. Assist with invoices, AP activities, purchase order aging, and fixed asset reconciliations as needed. Research and resolve accounting issues using documentation, prior-period examples, and available resources. Support special projects and other general accounting activities as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field . Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience . Hands-on experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close . Experience with variance analysis and financial reporting . Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and other formulas used for financial analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently, research issues, and learn established processes quickly . Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with accounting teams and department managers. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP experience. Experience with intercompany accounting . Budgeting and forecasting experience. Experience with Power Query or Excel-based reporting tools. Fixed asset accounting and/or invoice processing experience. Public accounting experience is a plus.
