Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant will perform advanced variance analysis to provide management insights into the operations, drive operations efficiencies, lead inventory management and maintain standard costs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develops systems and procedures to accurately maintain accounting records and standard costs systems. Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies. Partner with operations to understand cost drivers and improve margin visibility. Prepares necessary organizational budgeting reports, documentation for audits and support audit requests. Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance. Determines and recommends cost-effective solutions. Strengthen internal inventory controls and documentation processes. Lead and support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs. Supports accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as accounting software. Thorough understanding of accounting procedures. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail. Ability to manage confidential information.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. At least two years of experience in cost accounting preferred Manufacturing experience desired.
