Purpose of Position:
Lead the day-to-day accounting function by ensuring accurate and timely financial information while maintaining a hands-on role in accounting operations. Provide reliable financial information to assist the General Manager and ownership in making informed business decisions.
Position Overview:
CLLB Lead Accountant has responsibility coordinating day-to-day accounting operations, completing and reviewing accounting work, supporting the accounting team, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on position that is expected to step into transactional and operational accounting tasks as needed. Will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Lead the day-to-day accounting operations and perform hands-on accounting work as needed, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close tasks, financial reporting, and other accounting duties. Provide day-to-day direction and support to Accounting/Finance team members and coordinate accounting activities across CLLB entities to ensure responsibilities and deadlines are completed accurately and timely. Maintain and improve accounting standard operating procedures and help ensure consistent accounting practices across entities. Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports, including analysis and investigation of unusual balances, trends, and budget-to-actual variances. Maintain and oversee the General Ledger, including reconciliation and review of cash, receivables, inventory, payables, sales tax, fixed assets, loans payable, equity, accrued liabilities, prepaid assets, revenue, cost of goods sold, and other key accounts. Oversee accounts payable and assist with day-to-day AP responsibilities when needed, including invoice processing, purchase orders, employee expense reports, vendor inquiries, account reconciliations, payment processing, and other AP tasks. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related) and 3-5 years of related experience Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
