POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close, preparing financial reports, and strengthening accounting processes and internal controls. The position will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and contribute to operational accounting, analysis, and process improvements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated to solve problems and improve processes within a dynamic and growing organization. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting general ledger accounting, financial close and reporting, account reconciliations, and operational accounting processes while collaborating across teams to promote accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls. This full-time position is based in Onalaska, WI, and the typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
Responsibilities also include:
Assist with maintaining accurate general ledger records Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting Review financial transactions for proper coding, documentation, approval, and recording Assist with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local indirect tax returns including excise, sales, fuel taxes, and credits across multiple jurisdictions Prepare schedules and documentation for external auditors and tax return preparers Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, trading, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and timely issue resolution Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, strengthen controls, and improve reporting

Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with two (2) or more years of tax or accounting experience Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook required Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statement reporting Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new software, platforms, and internal systems Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, data analysis, and organizational skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
