The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization. This role assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to develop a strong foundation in accounting in a manufacturing context.
MAJOR DUTIES
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed. Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts. Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits. Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Support budget preparation and financial analysis activities. Maintain accounting records and documentation. Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES
2-3+ years of experience performing similar duties; preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications required; Epicor preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Extended periods of sitting required. Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.
