About The Role We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accurate and timely accounting operations at our Stevens Point Distribution Center. This role is responsible for daily cash management, financing receivables, merchant account oversight, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close support. The Staff Accountant will play an important role in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial reporting while partnering with internal teams and external financial partners to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate accounting records.
Schedule:
On-site, Monday-Friday What you will be doing each day: Daily Cash Management Process and monitor daily cash transactions, including deposits, wire transfers, and disbursements Manage merchant IDs (MIDs) across payment processors, ensuring accurate transaction routing, settlement tracking, and reconciliation of merchant processing statements to the general ledger Serve as a point of contact for merchant account setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting with payment processors and banks Perform daily cash position reporting and monitor bank balances across accounts Track deposits in transit and provide support for month-end reporting Support cash forecasting and liquidity monitoring Financing Receivable Own the end-to-end financing receivable process, including finance deposits, disputes, and application Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due amounts or discrepancies Reconcile financing activity to the general ledger Partner with sales and customer success teams to resolve discrepancies, disputes, and chargebacks General Ledger & Reconciliations Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close as requested Reconcile assigned balance sheet general ledger accounts, including cash, financing receivables, customer deposits, and accrued liabilities Investigate and resolve account variances Maintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit readiness Financial Reporting & Compliance Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Assist with internal control documentation and compliance procedures Help prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and tax filings We are looking for individuals with: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Associate's degree with relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate environment Prior cash management experience strongly preferred Familiarity with merchant processing or payment gateway systems and merchant ID management is a plus Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls Proficiency in Excel and experience with computerized accounting systems Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across internal departments Ability to work on-site at the Stevens Point Distribution Center What we offer: Personal and Professional Development opportunities Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Paid Time Off Birthday Off With Pay Paid Parental Leave Education Reimbursement Generous product discount 401K Retirement Plan With Company Match Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance Long & Short Term Disability Insurance Health and Wellness Program Fun company activities - involvement in the community!
