Job Title:
Accountant Company Overview:

Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing general accounting duties and, supporting the company's financial operations and compliance requirements. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & CFO, this position requires a detail-oriented professional who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role does not currently include any supervisory responsibilities but has definite advancement potential. Key Responsibilities 1. General Accounting o Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. o Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other accounts as needed. o Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial analysis. o Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly tax filings (payroll withholding, sales, B&O, etc.) 2. Financial Reporting o Assist with the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports. o Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making. 3. Compliance & Documentation o Ensure compliance with all accounting and payroll regulations. o Maintain organized and accurate records to support audits and reporting requirements. 4. Collaboration & Process Improvement o Work closely with the VP of Finance & CFO to support financial analysis and strategic planning, as well as VP Admin to assist in the Waverly office with duties as assigned. o Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting and payroll operations. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including certified payroll processing.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Foundation) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in construction or project-based accounting.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage compliance and certified payroll requirements.
  • Proven track record of enhancing financial processes and leveraging technology.
  • CPA or CMA a plus Compensation & Benefits
