Job Description
An established and growing Tempe-area manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on accounting position for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day accounting function while also helping oversee processes, priorities, and accounting staff. The Accounting Supervisor will work closely with company leadership and will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening accounting procedures, and supporting the continued growth of the organization. This position is ideal for an experienced accountant who is ready for increased responsibility and wants the opportunity to grow into a broader accounting leadership role. Responsibilities The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for a combination of hands-on accounting and supervision, including: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and help ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule Review and support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Perform and review bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare and review general ledger entries and account reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end closing Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules Review accounting transactions for proper classification and accuracy Assist with inventory accounting and cost-related transactions Support sales tax and other recurring accounting and compliance requirements Assist with cash management and cash-flow reporting Help prepare monthly financial statements and management reports Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Work directly with company leadership on financial and operational projects Take on additional accounting and business responsibilities as experience and knowledge of the company grow Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting Previous supervisory, lead, or senior accounting experience preferred Manufacturing, distribution, or inventory accounting experience is a plus Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to identify problems, research discrepancies, and follow issues through to resolution Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information appropriately
