$45,000 - $58,000 DOE A well-established agricultural and distribution company in Bakersfield is looking to add an Accounting Assistant to its growing finance team. This role plays an important part in keeping financial processes accurate, organized, and running smoothly across multiple departments. The Opportunity This position exists to support an active accounting department that manages a high volume of daily transactions and reporting activities. The Accounting Assistant will assist with core accounting functions, maintain accurate records, and serve as a key resource for both internal teams and external vendors. You'll work closely with accounting leadership and collaborate with operations, administrative, and customer-facing teams. What You'll Do- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment of vendors
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities
- Maintain financial records, vendor files, and supporting documentation
- Support accounts receivable functions, including payment posting and customer account review
- Partner with accounting staff and department managers to research discrepancies and resolve issues What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working within an accounting or ERP system
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks accurately
