Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Automotive Accounting Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day accounting functions of our dealership, ensuring accuracy in financial records, transactions, and reporting. This is a great opportunity for a motivated accounting professional with hands-on experience in the automotive industry who is looking to grow within a fast-paced, supportive environment. Key responsibilities Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time Reconcile dealership accounts including floorplan, cash, and vehicle inventory Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Prepare and post journal entries in the dealer management system (DMS) Process and audit vehicle deals, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate Maintain and reconcile the schedules on a regular basis Communicate with department managers regarding financial discrepancies Support the controller or office manager with financial reporting as needed Requirements Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in an automotive dealership setting — required Proficiency with a dealer management system (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion) Strong understanding of automotive accounting processes and deal structuring High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting preferred The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
