Staff About Showmen Supplies:
We are North America's leading distributor of specialty lighting, power distribution, and electrical equipment tailored for the entertainment industry. From theme parks and movie sets to the country's biggest state fairs, our niche business is right in the middle of the action. We're proud of our history as a family-owned business for over 60 years, and our day-to-day operations are fast-paced and highly specialized. Working here means being a part of a tight-knit team in an incredibly exciting industry where no two days look the same.
The Role:
Every great operation relies on a dedicated leader behind the scenes, keeping the gears turning. We are seeking a multi-talented, hands-on Supervisor for our Accounting & Admin Group to run the operational functions of the company. This isn't a rigid, corporate spreadsheet job where you sit in an isolated office: This is a dynamic, "working-manager" role reporting directly to ownership. You will personally execute the day-to-day accounting controls, company-wide HR functions, and administrative logistics that keep our business moving. Because we are a diverse enterprise, you will also manage accounting and billing workflows for other specialized companies operating under the Siefker Group umbrella (including sister companies, Semcor Manufacturing, Great Lakes Sign Supply Co, and Siefker Property Group). If you are an independent problem-solver who loves variety, commands a high level of financial integrity, is passionate about building an engaged team, and thrives when wearing multiple hats, this unique position offers the perfect blend of stability and daily excitement. What a
Typical Week Looks Like:
- Accounting & Financial Operations (45%): Manage the accounting operations of the organization. You'll be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting tasks, while providing supervision and operational structure to the accounting and administrative staff.
- Human Resources & Payroll (35%): Act as our internal HR generalist.
This includes managing the company-wide time clock system, processing payroll hours, handling health insurance premium tracking, and leading recruitment from resume review to onboarding. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, spending time addressing specific team concerns and exercising executive judgment in the best interests of the organization.
- Office Administration & Facilities (20%): Serve as a central point of contact for the daily operations of the facility.
You will be responsible for managing internal needs and external vendor relationships relating to building maintenance, safety & security, and IT systems. Additionally, you'll have executive engagement with both our internal Safety Committee and Employee Engagement Committee. What You Bring to the
Team:
Full-Charge Bookkeeping:
Proven, hands-on track record managing AR/AP, bank reconciliations, and closing the books at month-end. Experience with inventory accounting, job costing, and multi-entity environments is highly valued.
HR Generalist Experience:
Confident navigating group health insurance administration, processing payroll data, and handling employee relations with discretion, care and excellent judgment.
An Execution Mindset:
You enjoy organizing chaos and building efficient back-office processes. You aren't afraid of the daily details of data entry or facilities management.
Autonomy:
You are a self-starter who doesn't need to be micromanaged. You can spot an IT glitch, an invoice error, or a building issue and take the initiative to resolve it.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field with a strong understanding of business accounting principles.
- Familiarity with financial statements and typical month-end, and year-end procedures.
- 5+ years of experience managing or supervising accounting/administrative staff.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully managing human resources activities in an organization. Skills
- Excellent executive judgment.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Attention to detail and organization
- Analytical and creative problem-solving
- Strong leadership and communication
- Team coordination and support This could be an ideal role for an experienced manager looking to take the next step in their professional development, or for a well-seasoned executive looking for a new challenge in organizing a dynamic small business.
