In this vital role, you will support the accounting department by managing a variety of administrative and financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with accounting standards, facilitate smooth financial processes, and uphold the integrity of confidential information. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Duties Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within various accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, and PeopleSoft. Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and account reconciliation. Support general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis. Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office tools to analyze data trends and support decision-making. Handle confidential information with discretion while managing sensitive financial documents in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations. Assist with payroll processing using systems like ADP, UltiPro, Ceridian, or Kronos, ensuring accurate employee compensation records. Contribute to governmental and non-profit accounting tasks by supporting budget tracking, audit preparation, and compliance documentation. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate and governmental accounting principles such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, or similar platforms; experience with financial software like Paychex or UltiPro is a plus. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping is preferred. Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Ability to analyze Excel data effectively for reporting purposes; experience with spreadsheets and Excel data analysis is essential. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills combined with a customer service mindset to support internal teams and external vendors. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience working within public accounting or financial services environments is advantageous.
