Full Job Description Accounting Supervisor Compensation:
$65,000•75,000 + Annual Bonus + Excellent Benefits Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, privately owned project-based organization in the Greater Syracuse area to identify an experienced Accounting Supervisor . This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing company where you'll oversee day-to-day accounting operations while positioning yourself for future advancement into a Controller-level role. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, partnering with operations, and ensuring the financial health of a project-driven business. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced organization where accuracy, organization, and exceptional job costing skills are critical to success. Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Lead month-end and year-end close activities. Maintain the General Ledger and ensure financial accuracy. Prepare weekly financial reports covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, and project performance. Analyze job costs and project profitability while ensuring accurate cost allocation. Monitor project budgets and identify cost variances. Partner with operational leadership to provide timely financial reporting and analysis. Supervise and mentor accounting/administrative staff. Coordinate with external accounting and financial partners. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and process improvements. Support annual audits and other financial compliance activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Five or more years of progressive accounting experience. Experience preparing financial statements. Strong General Ledger and month-end close experience. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in one or more of the following environments are encouraged to apply: Construction Contracting Industrial services Manufacturing Engineering Other project-based organizations utilizing job costing What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will possess: Exceptional attention to detail.
