Owner Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee payroll, tax preparation, and accounting services for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to supervise workflows while maintaining excellent client relationships. This position requires accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines throughout the year. Primary Responsibilities Payroll Services Process payroll for multiple business clients accurately and on schedule. Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax deposits. Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, including Forms 941, state withholding returns, W-2s, W-3s, and 1099s. Respond to client questions regarding payroll, payroll taxes, and employee withholdings. Tax Preparation Prepare individual (Form 1040) income tax returns. Prepare business tax returns, including partnerships, corporations, S corporations, and LLCs. Gather and organize client financial information for tax preparation. Review tax returns for accuracy and compliance with current tax laws. Communicate with clients regarding tax documents, questions, and filing requirements. Accounting & Client Services Maintain accurate financial records for business clients. Perform account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. Assist clients with bookkeeping and accounting questions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain confidentiality of all client information. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate accounting staff assignments and workflow. Review work prepared by staff for accuracy and completeness. Assist with training and mentoring team members. Help establish and improve office procedures and efficiencies. Ensure projects are completed accurately and within deadlines. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting, payroll, or tax preparation experience. Experience preparing business and individual tax returns. Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax reporting. Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations. Experience with accounting and tax software (QuickBooks, Drake, UltraTax, or similar preferred). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or other professional certification is a plus but not required. Experience supervising or leading an accounting team. Experience working in a public accounting or tax practice. $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
