Job Description
Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for over 85 years. A commitment to teamwork and quality has made us one of the top turkey, hog and egg companies in the U.S. and awarded the company and its team an excellent reputation. Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Fort Recovery. The primary goal of this position is the completion of accounts receivable supervisory functions along with accurate execution of payroll tasks, fixed asset tracking and to strive for overall departmental excellence.

Provide supervision and leadership to accounts receivable personnel while ensuring the accuracy of this department. This includes assistance with any new customer setup, credit checks, credit memo approvals, EFT requests, monthly sales related tax filings, and the understanding of all accounts receivable daily tasks for coverage and guidance. Review administrative payroll timecards and complete divisional payroll related items. This includes completion of weekly payroll bank transfers, understanding payroll system and how it affects the General Ledger, assistance with annual TM village tax refunds, and other miscellaneous payroll related tasks. Complete month end tasks to ensure the accuracy of our financials. This includes completion of monthly journal entries, verifying accounts receivable balances with other divisions, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. Ensure the accuracy of the divisional fixed asset listing by correctly classifying additions, deletions, and transfers between departments/divisions. Performs analysis as requested by supervisor for various projects within the live and egg division. This could be a short-term analysis or longer term reports created and maintained. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field is required. Prior supervisory experience is preferred Preferred candidates will have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
