Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Accounting Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Accounting Manager to help ensure the efficient and accurate execution of the company's day-to-day accounting functions. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial records, supporting internal processes, coordinating customer account administration, and assisting with the implementation and ongoing use of accounting and billing systems. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, technology-savvy, and enjoys improving processes while delivering excellent internal and external customer service. Essential Responsibilities
  • Support the Accounting Manager with daily accounting and administrative functions.
  • Maintain accurate financial and customer account information within company systems.
  • Develop expertise in the company's accounting software, serving as a primary resource for system processes and best practices.
  • Assist with data entry, record maintenance, document management, and reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor accounting workflows to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to customer accounts and accounting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and support process enhancements.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end activities as assigned.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed to support the department.
  • Responsible for managing time-sensitive work ensuring deadlines are consistently met. Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in billing and accounts receivable or a related accounting support role required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Excellent investigative and research skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent sitting (90%), with occasional standing and walking (10%).
  • Ability to lift small packages as needed.
