Administrative Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper Chattanooga Room in the Inn - 5.0 Chattanooga, TN Job Details Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Financial records management Attention to detail QuickBooks Organizational skills Bookkeeping Full Job Description We are looking for a part-time Administrative Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day accounting and administrative operations. The successful candidate will take ownership of their work, handle confidential information with discretion, and take pride in accurate and timely work. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are essential. Key Responsibilities Record and categorize revenue, expenses, donations, grants, and other financial transactions Process accounts payable, vendor invoices, reimbursements, and organizational payments Record and reconcile donations, contributions, pledges, and other charitable income Track restricted and unrestricted funds and ensure transactions are properly coded to the appropriate programs, grants, and funding sources Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts on a regular basis Maintain accurate records of grant-related income and expenses Prepare invoices and reimbursement requests for reimbursable grants, including gathering required supporting documentation and tracking submissions and payments Assist with grant financial reporting and ensure financial records align with grant requirements Maintain organized documentation and supporting records for financial transactions Assist with year-end close activities and prepare schedules and documentation for the organization's auditors Prepare routine reports, spreadsheets, and financial summaries for staff, leadership, committees, and the board as needed Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, or unusual transactions and work with appropriate staff to resolve them Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or related education is a plus 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred; nonprofit accounting experience is a plus Experience with grant accounting, reimbursement invoicing, or government-funded programs is a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to manage deadlines and maintain organized financial records Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for clarification Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and common office software Experience with QuickBooks preferred
Pay:
