!!! We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the organization's accounts payable functions and ensure the efficient processing of vendor payments. This pivotal role involves managing a team responsible for invoice processing, account reconciliation, and compliance with financial policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with accounting software, financial concepts, and internal controls, contributing to the organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency. ResponsibilitiesCONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTING BACKGROUND HUGE PLUS
!!! Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, verification, coding, and timely payment execution Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor records Reconcile accounts payable ledger and perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy Supervise the preparation of journal entries related to accounts payable activities and general ledger adjustments Collaborate with procurement, finance, and human resources teams to streamline processes and improve workflow efficiency Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar platforms Monitor aging reports for overdue invoices and coordinate collections or dispute resolution as needed Support audit processes by providing detailed documentation of transactions and internal controls Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance data entry accuracy, reduce processing time, and strengthen internal controls Experience Candidates need contractor experience - general contractor, electrical contractor, mechanical contractor, etc. Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures Experience working with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is highly desirable Knowledge of governmental accounting standards or non-profit accounting practices is a plus Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail in data entry and bookkeeping tasks Proven ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliancePay:
