Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and optimize the accounts payable function within an educational organization. This long-term contract position is based in Orlando, Florida, and requires a strong understanding of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes, invoice coding, and general ledger alignment. The ideal candidate will bring a proven ability to manage vendor relationships, resolve AP issues, and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, and ensuring accurate general ledger alignment.
- Manage the accounting and AP inbox, addressing inquiries and resolving payment-related issues promptly.
- Supervise vendor setups and maintenance, ensuring all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide support for month-end close processes, ensuring all AP-related entries are completed accurately and on time.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable operations.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and ensure adherence to organizational policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure smooth workflows.
- Utilize tools such as Excel, Office Suite, and Great Plains Dynamics to manage AP tasks effectively. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, including hands-on work with P2P processes.
- Proficiency in coding invoices, general ledger alignment, and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong knowledge of payment methods such as ACH, check runs, and other disbursement processes.
- Experience with month-end close procedures and full-cycle accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Great Plains Dynamics, and advanced skills in Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, including overseeing an accounting inbox and resolving AP-related issues.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Preferred experience with Paper Save, though not required.
