Job Description

Job Summary Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function for our accounting team. This role is responsible for overseeing invoice processing, vendor payments, expense reporting, month-end close support, and continuous improvement of AP processes and controls. The ideal candidate is a strong accounts payable professional with deep knowledge of AP best practices, ERP systems, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, approvals, payment processing, and reconciliations. Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment runs. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures related to disbursements and vendor management. Monitor AP aging and resolve outstanding issues with vendors and internal stakeholders. Oversee vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and 1099 preparation in compliance with applicable regulations. Partner with Procurement, Accounting, and Finance teams to improve processes and support operational goals. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and audit support. Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and process standardization across the AP function. Ensure compliance with company policy, GAAP, and applicable state and federal requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of progressive accounts payable or accounting experience, including 1-2 years in a leadership-level role. Strong understanding of AP processes, internal controls, and financial close procedures. Experience with ERP system experience Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
