Job Description

Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit long-term care and sub-acute rehabilitation facility in Havre de Grace, MD (Harford County) and we are in search of a Full Time Accounts Receivable Supervisor . We are honored to be recognized by Maryland Department of Health for quality assessment performance, ranking #1 in Harford County and #8 in the State. Currently a Five-Star facility per CMS guidelines and also recently voted as Harford's Best Nursing Home by The Baltimore Sun's Best Contest. Overview The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for the management and support of the Accounts Receivable department.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
Conducts AR Team meetings Responsible for supervising and supporting the Billing Office staff and acts as a liaison between Accounts Receivable, Admissions and the Director of Business Operations. Reviews daily census reports for all payor activity. Performs financial and insurance screening to determine pay sources (in conjunction with the Admissions Office). Post all receipts to the accounting system. Reviews requests for adjustments and refunds for all payors. Initiates follow-up collection calls/mailings following collection procedures. Reviews aging reports on an ongoing basis. Coordinates, reviews and performs month end close procedures. Assures proper staffing levels for the Accounts Receivable Office and front desk. Maintains appropriate and extensive knowledge of accounting system; ability to update system to accommodate new payors, etc. Ensures all Federal and State mandated reports are completed timely. Ability to cross train on any Business Office function. Ensures resident and guests rights are protected and ensures they are free from abuse and neglect. Assumes accountability for all policies and procedures contained in the employee handbook. Adheres to infection control practices. Attends In-Service training to maintain and improve competencies. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification/Experience:
Two years experience as an Accounts Receivable Supervisor in a Long Term Care Facility. Associates degree in Accounting preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Promotes positive image of our facility to residents, guests, families and the community. Protects the privacy of residents, guests and employees Requires excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, and a professional, cooperative demeanor. Projects good judgment, gives excellent attention to detail, and performs all duties satisfactorily while prioritizing projects as assigned. Exhibits excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. Requires excellent working knowledge of Maryland Medical Assistance and Medicare Skilled Nursing Facility guidelines. Requires extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites. Please note that we require initial Covid-19 vaccination, and annual influenza vaccination .
