Job Description

A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is searching for an Accounts Payable Manager to provide hands-on, process-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead and scale our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) function during a period of rapid growth. This role will be responsible for managing the full AP lifecycle, improving close timelines, implementing scalable systems, and building SOX-ready controls.
Key Responsibilities:
P2P Operations Leadership Oversee end-to-end accounts payable process (invoice intake, account coding, approval routing, manage A/P Aging report) Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely and accurate payment processing Supervise and mentor AP staff (bookkeepers / clerks) Own corporate credit card administration, coding, and compliance Month-End Close & Reporting Own AP close process and ensure completion by Day 3 of close Review AP aging, accruals, and expense cut-off Prepare and review journal entries related to AP, accrued expenses, and credit cards Support flux analysis and financial statement review Process Improvement & Systems Design scalable invoice intake workflows Improve PO compliance and 3-way match processes Establish KPIs and reporting for AP performance SOX & Internal Controls Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of P2P controls Ensure segregation of duties and approval thresholds Support internal and external audit requests Partner with Controller on building sustainable SOX processes
Must Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive AP experience 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead capacity ERP experience Strong Excel skills Nice to
Have Qualifications:
QuickBooks experience Experience in a public company or SOX-compliant environment Experience implementing AP automation tools Compensation and Perks Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience. Medical, dental, and vision coverage. Generous PTO and a retirement match. 9:00-5:00 in office schedule
