Job Description

SDK Apartments is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our centralized AP function and support accurate, timely, and compliant payment operations across the organization. This position is located in Ridgewood, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on-site, as remote work is not available for this role. About the Position As our AP Manager, you will… Recommend and administer centralized standards for all accounts payable policies and procedures including processing purchase orders, verifying invoices, executing payments to vendors, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, reconciling accounts, generating reports, managing expenses, and supporting audits. Complete regular analyses of SDK's AP function and recommend adjustments or reinforce internal AP controls, automate processes where possible and improve cash management flow. Collaborate with the Controller in timely completion of AP-related audits, reporting and filings (e.g., 1099 and Worker's Compensation). Hire, train, develop and mentor team members. Coordinate the work of the AP team, promoting timeliness, accuracy of payments, sound judgment, discretion and fiscal responsibility. Train the AP and property team members on SDK's general ledge and AP processes. Take lead on portfolio-wide initiatives and projects related to AP administration and reporting, including platform troubleshooting and integration procedures related to AP. Complete timely and accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and coding. Ensure that AP team members collaborate with internal stakeholders, communicate professionally, respond promptly to AP inquiries, educate stakeholders on AP policies, and proactively highlight trends and patterns that require attention. Handle escalated AP concerns and negotiations with professionalism and efficiency, leading to effective solutions for the organization. Manage vendor on and offboarding and ensure vendor compliance; build and maintain strong vendor relationships. Perform other related duties proactively. About Your Professional Background & Skills Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related. A minimum of 7 years of related progressively responsible experience with a minimum of 3 years of direct management experience. In-depth understanding and knowledge of accounts payable best practices and laws. Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience. Experience in related class asset and industry is strongly preferred. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. Internal controls expertise. Exemplary discretion, sound judgment and decision-making abilities. Strong organization, and leadership skills, with patience and ability to train others.? Results-driven, proactive and able to work independently. Detailed-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with RealPage suite or similar property management accounting software. Strong professional references supported by a stable work history. Must be able to work with any employer in the US without any restrictions whatsoever. The annualized gross base range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 plus bonus eligibility. The actual compensation within the range will be based on factors unique to the candidate, including direct years of experience and depth of knowledge.
