The role ensures timely collection of rent, CAM charges, percentage rent, and all other tenant obligations, while maintaining strong professional relationships with permanent and national tenants, as well as smaller tenants. The AR Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for legal counsel and external collection agencies, and is accountable for presenting clear, actionable AR status reports to senior management. Responsibilities Manage the full Accounts Receivable cycle across 26 commercial properties , including tenant billing, collections, account maintenance, and reporting. Oversee accurate billing of base rent, CAM charges, percentage rent, and other lease-related charges , ensuring alignment with commercial lease provisions. Monitor AR aging and delinquent accounts and lead proactive collection efforts to reduce outstanding balances and improve cash flow. Build strong relationships with national, regional, and specialty retail tenants , serving as a key contact for billing inquiries, disputes, collections, and payment arrangements. Partner with shopping center General Managers to address tenant delinquencies and coordinate collection strategies across the portfolio. Utilize Yardi Voyager to manage tenant accounts, billing, collections, reporting, and account maintenance. Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel and third-party collection agencies on lease defaults, demand letters, litigation, referrals, and recovery efforts. Manage month-end and year-end AR activities , prepare AR reporting for senior leadership, and continuously improve AR processes, workflows, and internal controls. Qualifications Required 3+ years of Accounts Receivable and collections experience in commercial real estate, retail real estate, or commercial property management. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Hands-on experience with Yardi or another commercial real estate accounting platform. Demonstrated success managing collections and resolving delinquent tenant accounts. Experience managing AR for a high-volume commercial tenant portfolio. Experience with commercial lease billing, including Base Rent, CAM, Percentage Rent, and other lease-related charges. Ability to review and interpret commercial lease provisions related to tenant billing and collections. Experience coordinating legal escalations, lease defaults, and third-party collection efforts. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Preferred Experience managing national retail tenants. Experience working with shopping centers or retail portfolios. Experience with CAM reconciliations. Experience improving AR processes and internal controls.
