Manager of Cash & Accounts Receivable Location:
Charleston, South Carolina Compensation Range:
$130-$160 We are seeking an experienced Manager of Cash & Accounts Receivable to join a large, complex healthcare organization. This position reports to the Assets Director and is responsible for overseeing cash and accounts receivable accounting across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, healthcare industry experience, and the ability to manage complex financial activity while leading and supporting a team. Key Responsibilities Oversee accounting activities related to Cash and Accounts Receivable (AR) across multiple entities Ensure the accurate documentation, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of cash, checks, and investments Manage monthly and fiscal year-end cash and AR accounting activities Perform analysis and review of patient and pharmacy accounts receivable Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and properly supported Review account activity, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and close processes Manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a large, complex healthcare environment Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters Assist with process improvements and strengthen controls surrounding cash and AR activity Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field with a strong accounting curriculum 4-7+ years of related professional accounting experience Candidates with a related degree should have 6+ years of progressively responsible accounting and financial reporting experience within the healthcare industry Strong understanding of cash accounting, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage a high volume of work while meeting strict deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Ability to effectively lead, guide, and manage staff Preferred Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field 6+ years of accounting experience within a large, complex hospital or healthcare system Previous supervisory or management experience CPA, CMA, or CHFP certification Experience with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who understands the complexities of cash and accounts receivable within a healthcare environment. You should be comfortable digging into the details, analyzing large volumes of financial data, managing competing deadlines, and providing leadership to your team while maintaining accuracy and strong financial controls.
