Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented Business Office Manager / Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee the financial and administrative operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing resident accounts, Medicare and Managed Care billing, collections, cash management, business office functions, and administrative support services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare billing, accounts receivable management, customer service, and team leadership. Success in this role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, payers, and interdisciplinary team members. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the organization while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the facility's mission of providing quality care. Responsibilities Manage all business office operations, including resident trust accounts, cash receipts, accounts receivable, collections, month-end processes, and financial reporting. Oversee Medicare, Managed Care, Medicaid, Private Pay, and insurance billing processes to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims. Monitor aging reports and aggressively follow up on outstanding balances with residents, families, managed care organizations, and third-party payers. Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, authorizations, and coverage to ensure appropriate reimbursement. Coordinate admission financial reviews and communicate payment responsibilities to residents and families. Maintain accurate resident account records and resolve billing inquiries promptly and professionally. Manage resident trust funds in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations. Supervise and develop business office personnel through coaching, training, and performance management. Collaborate with facility leadership, MDS, therapy, nursing, admissions, and corporate departments to ensure accurate reimbursement and census management. Prepare monthly financial reports, AR analyses, cash collections reports, and other documentation for leadership review. Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, HIPAA, and state regulatory requirements. Support payroll, human resources, and employee onboarding processes as assigned. Maintain vendor relationships, process invoices, and assist with accounts payable functions. Participate in facility audits, surveys, and compliance reviews. Assist residents, families, and responsible parties with financial counseling and payment plan arrangements. Support facility goals related to census growth, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of skilled nursing business office, healthcare billing, or accounts receivable experience required. Previous experience with Medicare Part A, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Private Pay billing required. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), or Post-Acute Care setting strongly preferred. Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and payer requirements. Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), remittance advice, and payer correspondence. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and handling confidential information. From $80,000.00 per month
