  • Full-time Are you a senior health system coder who is looking to elevate your career in gorgeous Southern, CA?
If so, this role might be for you! We are looking for someone who ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of coded health system encounters across inpatient and outpatient settings including: outpatient surgery, emergency, and observation. This role conducts audits, validates code assignment, validates charges and evaluates adequacy in alignment with organizational policies. You will also be serving as an HIM Epic and 3M-360 Super-user!
Qualifications Education Required:
Associate's degree in Health Information Management or closely related discipline; concurrent enrollment in a CAHIIM-accredited HIM program may be considered
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or closely related discipline
Licensure/Certification Required:
(CCS) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) through the American Health Information Management Association.
Experience Required:
two (2) years of hospital/facility coding and charge capture experience for a multidisciplinary healthcare system (acute healthcare system)
Preferred:
one (1) year of formal auditing experience preferred, consulting or vendor experience Epic certification in coding, experience using 3M-360, experience with hospital charging and revenue cycle initiatives Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required 1. Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications with advanced working knowledge of Excel 2. Expert-level working knowledge of coding guidelines, including ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT 3. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding, and billing 4. Ability to investigate and analyze multiple coding resources such as Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, coding and charging for devices and implants, Local/National coverage determinations, and payer contracts 5. Extensive working knowledge of revenue cycle workflows, charging, revenue integrity, and hospital accounting principles 6. Working knowledge of Epic workflows pertinent to HIM, coding, and revenue cycle and expert knowledge of 3M encoder and related products 8. Track record of excellent communication within all levels of the health system, physicians, and vendor relationships With a great salary, full benefits, advancement for leadership, and more
