Duties Conduct comprehensive home energy audits by inspecting insulation, HVAC systems, lighting, appliances, and building envelopes to evaluate energy performance. Utilize specialized tools such as blower doors, thermal cameras, and combustion analyzers to identify air leaks, insulation deficiencies, and equipment inefficiencies. Provide clear, actionable recommendations thru work order to field crews on upgrades or behavioral changes to enhance energy efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety regulations by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) during inspections and handling equipment safely. Document findings accurately through detailed reports, photographs, and diagrams Collaborate with contractors or service providers for recommended upgrades, ensuring quality standards are met during installations or repairs. REQUIRED
Knowledge of mechanical systems including boiler operation, power generation systems, gas turbine generation, electrical systems, and environmental compliance is advantageous. Familiarity with safety protocols such as PPE use, respiratory protection, heavy lifting techniques, and emergency response readiness is essential. Outdoor work experience is preferred due to the nature of home assessments in various weather conditions. Strong math skills combined with technical proficiency in using diagnostic tools and performing equipment inspections are required. Ability to lead or work within a team environment while adhering to safety regulations ensures smooth project execution.
