Position SummaryThe firm is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Auditor/Accountant with a strong background in non-profit financial reporting and audit engagements. The ideal candidate can manage multiple audits in a fast-paced environment and is proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), and internal controls testing. Excellent communication skills are essential for working with clients and senior management.

Key ResponsibilitiesAudit & AssurancePlan, lead, and execute non-profit financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations.

Conduct audit testing on internal controls, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital assets, and expense accounts.

Perform single audits for non-profit organizations, including major program determination, cost principles, and compliance testing.

Conduct compliance audits in accordance with GAGAS and other applicable federal standards.

Prepare and review audit work papers to document work performed and support audit conclusions.

Draft audit reports and communicate findings, deficiencies, and recommendations to clients and audit committees.

Financial Accounting & ReportingPrepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Analyze trial balances, general ledgers, cash accounts, and journals, and propose adjusting journal entries where appropriate.

Assist in preparing audited financial statements, including drafting audit opinions.

Client & Stakeholder CommunicationBuild and maintain positive client relationships.

Serve as a point of contact for internal functional groups and external auditors.

Coach and mentor junior staff and interns during audit engagements.

Required Qualifications⭐ Public accounting background (client requirement)⭐ Non-profit accounting experience (client requirement)⭐ Minimum of 3 years of auditing experience (client requirement)Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, and SAS auditing standards.

Experience performing financial statement audits for non-profit organizations.

Proficiency in audit and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Thomson Reuters Engagement Manager; CCH Access is a plus).Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Preferred QualificationsActive CPA license or actively working toward CPA certification.

Experience leading audit teams and managing multiple audit engagements simultaneously.

Familiarity with grant compliance auditing for non-profit organizations.

This is a 5-day-a-week, in-person position.
