Job Overview We are seeking a 2nd shift detail-oriented and highly skilled Quality Auditor and Gauge Auditor to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will ensure that all products meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements through comprehensive audits, precise measurements, and rigorous analysis.
Training :
6 am to 2 pm Monday - Friday for about 4 weeks
Schedule:
2 pm to 10 pm Monday - Friday Job Duties & Responsibilities Quality Auditing (Approximately 50%) Perform routine floor audits of manufacturing processes, operators, and finished goods to ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines and standard operating procedures. Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured parts using visual methods and measurement tools. Review production documentation, material certifications, and traveler logs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Train production operators on proper quality standards, defect awareness, and standard inspection procedures. Gage Calibration & Metrology (Approximately 50%) Maintain the gage calibration tracking software, ensuring accurate records of calibration status, history, and location. Perform Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies and support Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) activities. Troubleshoot, repair, clean, and adjust measuring instruments to maintain accuracy. Procure new gages as needed and ensure proper retirement and disposal of obsolete or out-of-tolerance equipment.
Qualifications and Experience Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field or ASQ certifications (CQI, CQT) highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment, with at least 2 years focused specifically on gage calibration and control.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Direct experience using a wide variety of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, height gages, CMM operation is a plus). Familiarity with
ISO 9001, IATF
16949, or AS9100 quality standards. Proficiency in calibration software (e.g., GAGEpak) and standard Microsoft Office apps (Excel, Word). Join us in ensuring the highest standards of product quality!
